TheKBase files are standard XML files. XML is currently the most standard data interchange file format. It's used in every country and every context in which computers are used.
XML files are plain text files, so you can open any .kbase file with Windows Notepad or any XML Editor. A simple TheKBase file looks like this:
There are many tools available to manipulate, convert and use XML files, which means that you always have a way out if you decide to stop using TheKBase for whatever reason. XML files can be converted to spreadsheets, relational database tables, or Excel files with ease.
